Now you can own a high quality precision made brass steam engine and boiler at a reasonable price. These power plants from Saito are totally assembled and require no additional machine work or finishing.
Not a toy powered by short running "pellets", the Saito powers plants have high torque and run easily in both forward and reverse for 20 to 30 minutes on one boiler full of water. Multiple cylinders allow for easy starting the burners use methanol alcohol. Designed to shut down before the boiler runs dry.
A high pitch prop turning at low 500 to 800 rpm, is the key to successful steam propulsion. The two cylinder engine will easily turn a 2.5", prop with a high 2.75" pitch. This set up will work for boats of up to 40" in length.
The three cyliner engine will turn a 4" prop with a 4.5" pitch for especially large boats.
