MAGGIE M. TRAWLER
The History:
Built in 1990 by Campbeltown Shipbuilders Ltd (Scotland) MAGGIE
M operates out of Scarborough harbour in Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
The vessel is designed for twin-rig trawling and the aluminium shelter-deck
is a cover over the fish processing room. The vessel is designed
to operate in the most arduous sea conditions and the model performs
brilliantly on rough waters. The Becker rudder and Kort nozzle make
for a very manoeuvrable model, turning almost within its own length
- a great regatta boat.
The Model:
The nets
are emptied through a hatch on the starboard side foredeck and the
shelterdeck is a cover over the fish processing area. The 1:32 scale,
33.5" model contains hull, propshaft, kort nozzle, propeller,
parts for deck, superstructure, wheelhouse interior, 300 fittings,
two winches and crane kit and more.
Kit Contents: A detailed glassfibre hull; propshaft/tube,
Becker rudder, Kort nozzle and a propeller. All die-cut and printed
styrene parts for the superstructure and a detailed wheelhouse
interior. A set of 300 cast metal fittings; two winches and a
crane kit. Vacuum formed liferaft canisters and radar. Two crew
members. Model name. All the necessary dowels, rod, chain etc
are supplied. (Paints and adhesives not provided. Tools and equipment
will be required to complete.)
